BATHING YOUR PUPPY
As a pet owner, your nose will normally be the best judge of when you puppy needs a bath.
Overbathing of your puppy can remove essential oils and dry out your puppies coat.
When bathing your puppy or dog remember: A sink or washtub will be fine for bathing most
puppies and small dogs, a big dog will need the bathtub. If its Summer and a nice day out,
using a childs paddling pool or a hose to bathe your pet.
When you start to bathe your puppy or dog, remember to have all the things you will need to hand
before your start, such as dog shampoo, never use human shampoo as this does not contain the
correct ph balanced needed for your puppy, towels, brushes and combs. To make your puppy feel more
secure in a sink or washtub, place a rubber mat in the bottom.
Another couple of things you may want to remember is to avoid getting water in your dogs ears,
avoid getting soap into their eyes and if you are bathing your dog during the Winter, ensure
you keep you puppy indoors until they are fully dry, you could use a hair drying on a low
setting to speed this process up.
